Come follow me as we take on our newest project transforming our house from a drab 1950's era to a french inspired house. Remember your house is an expression of who you are and what you are, make it a home and not a place to just live!

inspiration
This is a great little find! I just rencently went to Melbourne with one goal in mind, to find some beautiful pieces to go into my house! We were in this small little beachy town when I came across the most gorgeous little gallery. I took a wander through, and to my delight found two of these little beauties stashed away near the back! I fell in love immediatly and had to purchase them! What do you think? now the inspiration for the rest of my decor is taking shape. If you have the chance visit Sorrento in Victoria and visit Costal Living, I love it!

Welcome to my first post!
Hello to all you design nuts! Welcome to my very first among many posts! I am going to start this blog by introducing myself to you. I am a very happily married mother of two young full of life boys. I was born and raised in Canada and 10 years ago married my beautiful man and moved to Australia (he is Australian in case you are wondering). When I moved here I was really culturally shocked. Although we are both English speaking countries I was amazed how far behind in style Australia was, needless to say it has changed over the years and now more and more are interested in the art of interior style. I still struggle to find pieces for my home or stores that are so easily accessible in Canada...hello Home Sense, Urban Barn, and box stores!!!!! But slowly Australia is catching up to the North American trends and I love it! So when we moved to Brisbane our first "starter home" was a real eye opener for me on both the building side as well as the interior style side, you would think paint was paint...nope so learned that out!!! So it was a real learning curve for myself and what works and doesn't work. Now we have just purchased our 2nd home. It is a 1950's weatherboard home. A quick tour through would either scare off or totally inspire the new home owners. We were the later, we could see amongst the 1960 carpets, the orange 1980' kitchen and the bathroom (pink tub and yellow vanity???? what the??) We could see with hard work and a plan this house would scrub up quite nicely! So after a bit of wrangling with the realtor, voila it is ours! So now the journey begins! Follow my posts as we go through room by room the change from drab to fab! I hope my blog inspires, excites, and motivates you to do the same! Whether it be just a simple change of accessories or the full house reno, come on and join me on the interior design bandwagon. Happy reno'ing to you and lets get inspired!
